عسل السمر واللبان

In the incense valleys of Dhofar, two trees flower within days of one another — the dark Samar and the sacred frankincense. For a few weeks each year, bees gather from both, and a honey unlike any other is born.

Where Two Rare Trees Meet

Dhofar’s mountains hold a landscape found almost nowhere else on earth — monsoon mist meeting arid stone, and among its slopes, the wild Samar and the frankincense tree grow within reach of the same hives.

Each spring, for a brief and unpredictable window, both trees flower together. Bees move between the two, and the honey that results carries the dark, smoky character of Samar softened by the resinous whisper of frankincense blossom — a combination no apiary can replicate by design.

This is not a blended honey. It is a single harvest, shaped entirely by what grew, and flowered, side by side that season.

Why This Honey Is Exceptional

A Harvest That Cannot Be Repeated at Will

01

Dual Blossom

Gathered from Samar and frankincense flowers growing together — a natural, unplanned pairing.

02

Extremely Limited

The flowering overlap lasts only weeks and does not occur identically every year.

03

Raw & Unheated

Cold-extracted and left unpasteurised, to preserve its natural density and aroma.

The Sensory Signature

Dark, Smoky, Quietly Resinous

Appearance

Deep Dark Amber

Almost brown at rest, glowing garnet when held to the light.

Texture

Dense & Fluid

A slow, generous pour, smooth across the palate.

Flavour

Smoky Caramel, Resinous Whisper

Bold caramel depth from the Samar, closed by a faint, incense-like finish.

Unlike any single-origin honey — because no single tree could have made it alone.

Questions About This Honey

Is this the same as pure frankincense honey?

No. This is a natural pairing of Samar and frankincense blossom, harvested together when both trees flower at once. Our pure Frankincense Honey is a separate, single-origin product.

Why is production so limited?

The overlap between Samar and frankincense flowering lasts only a few weeks and varies each year with rainfall and climate — some seasons yield very little.

Can this honey crystallise?

Yes, naturally. This does not affect quality. Gently warm the sealed jar in water no hotter than 40°C to soften it.

Which size should I choose?

250 g suits discovery; 400 g is ideal for regular tasting or gifting.
